Pay AttentionA Story by Loretta EdwardsPay Attention Are you worried about the changing morals in America? Especially after viewing a movie or a TV show? The foul language, the pornographic sex and brutal violence? Do you have a young person in your family that is having sex? Perhaps with several partners? Have you noticed how many couples are living together, without the benefit of marriage, until they tire of the arrangement? Are there this many more homosexuals and lesbians born today than twenty years ago? And the protests that turn into destructive riots? I blame the Secular Humanism movement. “Why? I have never heard of secular humanism. What is it?” It is a form of belief that is working to ruin America with such a sly and subtle agenda that it escapes our notice. Secular means: not sacred or religious; rejects God and any form of religious faith. Humanism belief is that man is his own god. Now are you scared? I am! Everyone has a right to their own belief. There have always been people who deny the existence of God; an afterlife; all religions. But never before has there been such a fanatic concentrated effort to change the morals of a nation. These believers have infiltrated every area of our life, schools, family, government and even our churches. It may have started when they took the prayers out of school. We agreed; most religions have special prayers, and children shouldn’t be forced to pray. Then the Ten Commandments went along with discipline. I have no problem with presenting Darwin’s theory of evolution, along with Divine Design, Adam and Eve, the Big Bang, and other theories. It isn’t happening. The evolution of man from monkeys is being taught as scientific fact; although it hasn’t been proven and there are still missing links. Sex education in school seemed like a good idea. It is hard for parents, with their kids looking at them, to admit that if they hadn’t done that dirty little act, none of them would be here. So let the school take over that embarrassing job. However, abstinence is barely mentioned. The younger ones are introduced to different life styles, two dads or two moms. High schoolers learn about birth control-condoms and how to use them and contraceptives. In college it gets radical. If there is no god; no afterlife; and we are nothing more than evolving animals-than sex is nothing more than a biological function and carries no guilt. Abortion is a woman’s right. You don’t believe this? Then believe this: “Educated people do not believe in God. Instead, they believe that this magnificent universe began with an accidental explosion and life emerged spontaneously and then evolved over three and one-half billion years. We like our animal brothers and insect sisters, are the products of chance and accident.” He is acclaimed a great thinker and hired to chair the department of a state university. Humanism believes: There is no god; no soul or spirit; no judgement or afterlife; no moral absolutes; no absolute truth; spontaneous generation; man is an evolving animal; new sexual responsibilities; no eternal law; open borders; one world socialist government; (you can be sure who will be in charge) and a one world religion (guess what that would be) and humanism rule, (which would be every man for himself.) Many citizens do not know that the UN excludes God, so the communists won’t be offended. Many organizations that sound like something that you would support are not what you think. Some are founded and directed by secular humanism believers. When then president Barack Obama made his 2008 remark that, “working class voters frustrated by their economic circumstances cling to their guns and religion,” his subtext was clear. Religion is a crutch for the poor and uneducated. When we finally pay attention, I hope it won’t be too late. 640 words Loretta Ellen Edwards © 2017 Loretta Edwards |
