Can Science And Faith Together Keep You Healthy?

Can Science And Faith Together Keep You healthy?

I would like for you to read, very carefully, what I have copied from a popular religious magazine. I have used ‘We’ in place of the name of the religion because I don’t want to prejudice you pro or con about this religion.

“We do not scoff at the words or works of medical science….We both work to help and heal humanity. Our belief in God is a complement to medical science and when so understood and practiced will help heal the world of its physical infirmities. The world of knowledge needs to be knit together and not pulled apart. We have no objection to any form of healing. What we insist on is that there can be no permanent healing of the body without a correspondingly permanent poise in the mental and emotional life. Psychosomatic medicine has shown that mental disturbances, conscious or subjective, produce physical reactions in the body. If the body is to be permanently well, one’s mental life must be creative, peaceful, and happy. This is the purpose of any mental healing, whether it be approached from the psychological or the metaphysical angle. Psychology and metaphysics are two ends of the same thing; they meet somewhere in consciousness and merge into a perfect unit.”

Well, what do you think? I agree with some of what he says.  Medical science has cured many of humanity’s ills. Polo, with its iron lung and crutches; TB; smallpox; whooping cough; and other nasty diseases have been eradicated. Dangerous surgery, that took weeks in the hospital, are now overnight procedures. Having a solid religious belief speeds the healing process. Isn’t good health the goal?

My problem is not that science and religion are finding common ground. My problem is that he and you believe what he said. He said what most people believe. When you get sick, you see a doctor, take medicine, suffer through the misery, and know ’this too shall pass.’ When it passes you go back to doing what you do.

Have you ever wondered How? you got sick in the first place? Was it punishment from God? A germ or virus created by God? Satan? You ate something that didn’t agree with you? Everyone gets sick and it was just your turn? All acceptable excuses, except they are all error thinking.

How means: the way of doing; manner; method; your thought concerning this; the reason.

What God creates remains the same for eternity. If, God had {and He didn’t} created germs to cause your sickness; no doctor or medicine could cure what God ordained: it would plague you into heaven and for all eternity.

If you could, would you develop a monster to harass, torture, and destroy the child you love? Are you more compassionate and loving then our Father-Mother-God? For six days God created. At the end of each day He surveyed His creation and pronounced it good. Either sickness is good or it doesn’t exist. Knowing that our Father created only good for us; how can you suffer from something that does not exist?

The answer to how, is this: Race Consciousness! Everyone knows (?) that sin, sickness and death are a necessary part of living. We have accepted what those around us believe. If, we should question, they explain, “that is just the way it is”. And that ends the conversation. I am not expecting you to say, “That makes sense. I’ll throw my medicine away and be healthy.” Don’t try to demonstrate what you don’t understand.

Talk to a professional tight rope walker. He will tell you it is just balance. But if you use that bit of information to give it a try, without understanding balance, you will fall hard.

Peter saw Jesus walking on water and he knew that he could too. Peter jumped out of the boat with confidence. Until the race consciousness reminded him that walking on water is impossible.

A faith healer sees a sick body that needs healing. Jesus saw the perfection of God’s creation. There is no imperfection in perfection. Jesus brought the suffering thought up to the Truth where there is nothing to heal. Jesus didn’t heal. The Father doesn’t heal. There has never been anything in God’s creation that can be improved or healed. Unless you include Race Consciousness which God is not responsible for and has no part in.

We were given Free-Will along with the Law of Cause and Effect. When you become aware that race consciousness or error thinking has taken over, it is not necessary (and is more error thinking) to accept blame or shame for mistakes. Just start where you are by accepting God as the only Power.

Remember: God is of purer eyes than to behold evil.                                  The outer is nothing but the expression of the image held within.                    Spiritual thoughts reveal God’s reality                     Discords and inharmony are apparent only to human sense                           There is nothing but Good because God is Infinite Good                       There is no such thing as a little Spirit-or a little Power in this Spirit
