Where Can It Hide?A Story by Loretta EdwardsWhere Can It Hide? Jesus was not a miracle worker. He did not heal. Not in the way that we expect healing to come today. There are certain rules of health that we must follow, medicine we must take, and time to heal. There is no instant healing for us. Actually, if we had lived in Jesus’ time, we probably would have been among the ones where Jesus “could do no mighty works because of their unbelief.” What does belief have to do with health? Everything. Jesus told us in many different ways that “we are what we think.” We all think constantly and for the most part we don’t pay much attention to the thoughts that roam through our mind. Jesus knew this. This was what was meant when He said, ‘if you lust in your heart, you have already committed the act or the crime. You have to think it before you can act on it.’ Many long years ago, there was a skit on radio about a salesman, with very little confidence in his sales ability. He would knock on a door while saying, “Nobody’s home, I hope, I hope, I hope.” It may not sound funny on paper, but the family had many good laughs at the arguments and excuses he would use as to why his customers would not want or need the product (different every week) that he was selling at a very reasonable price. It was funny yet it made a very good point. If we think we can’t…we can’t. The only thing standing between you and your heart’s desire is doubt, old wives tales, imagination, superstition, ignorance, fear, the myth repeated over many years that there is a powerful force opposed to and fighting against God: called Satan or the devil. Satan is your ill health, your failure, any problem or trouble or unhappiness that comes along. You tell yourself, ‘There is nothing I can do about it, this is the way life is,” and go on suffering. True, you are helpless as long as you believe that there is ‘something’ that can oppose God’s All Good. Tell me…Where can Satan hide in God’s All? God created All: did Intelligence create a being that turned on Him? Even if that did happen and the entity rebelled, where or how could ‘it’ find or generate evil power out of Good? Evil hiding in Good? Imperfection marring perfection? Sickness overcoming health? Does any of this make sense to you? Is there a logical reason that you believe this foolish fable? Any reason that you would want to? If, you could become convinced, without a shadow of doubt, that in all of infinity God’s Good is the only Reality: is all that exists: the shadow hiding your health would disintegrate immediately. Health has not left. It is there waiting underneath the lies, just waiting for the clouds of misunderstanding to part and the shadow between you and perfect health disappears. No waiting, no recovery period, no fee! Think of it! Free of burdens, healthy and happy. Too good to be true? Not for the Father-Mother-God who loves you unconditionally. Jesus said, “Come unto me, all you who are heavy burdened. I will give you rest.” The next time you head to the medicine cabinet, Stop. Ask yourself, “Is this headache (or whatever the problem) real? Is it from God? Is this medicine able to cure what God can’t? Is my health from God? You believe in God. Now Trust Him. 585 words Loretta Ellen Edwards © 2017 Loretta Edwards |
