Do You Wonder?A Story by Loretta EdwardsDo You Wonder? How does a brown cow eat green grass and give white milk? Or more profoundly, why are we on earth? Why did God start creation with only two people? If Adam and Eve were alone in the world, where did Cain find a wife? What did Satan look like when he tempted Eve, before God cursed him to forever crawl on his belly? Why is the first chapter of the Bible not accepted as the only spiritual and true creation? And if it is the way that God created-and I am sure it is-what reason would God have to recreate, making humans material and mortal? What is the difference between a dead body and alive body? Is it that the mind has left the body? There is no beginning and no end. Where were we before birth? Where do we go after death, if, there is no death and no end? Is medicine a gift from God for our good health? If God is in the medicine, and the patient dies from an overdose, does that make God a killer? How are the stars, sun, moon and earth held in space? They are above the earth in space, what is under the earth in space? Are we alone in the universe? How many dimensions are there? Are there parallel universes? If we are living in each one, in which one is the real us? Where is heaven? Isn’t heaven where God is? Isn’t God everywhere? Is the Bible totally God inspired-or somewhat man interpreted? Have some meanings been lost through translations? When and why did the church leave healing out of their service, when it was so important to the early church? Are the sick more lost then the sinner, when the sinner can find forgiveness in the church and the sick must rely on doctors, medicine and hospitals? Would Jesus be impressed with our many state-of-the-art machines for healing? Was He joking when He assured us that what He did we can also do? How much do our thoughts influence our lives? Animals communicate to each other. We are the smarter creatures. Instead of teaching Coco, the gorilla sign language, wouldn’t it be logical to learn his language? Do you know anyone saintly enough for heaven? Do you know anyone evil enough for hell?
Adam was dirt, Eve was a rib; what was Satan made of? Was Satan self-created; with self-created powers? Did God create Satan and endow him with power that Satan is now using against God and man? Or is Satan a man-made myth in the mind of men? When Jesus said, “Get thee behind me Satan.” Who or what was He talking to? A being with horns and a tail, a spirit, am illusion, His own imagination? Perhaps, it was His own, at that time, human thoughts and fears, ’that He wasn’t up for the job of savior of the world’? The serpent that God cursed? Or something entirely different? Jesus introduced God as our heavenly Father. Love best describes God and love is considered a womanly attribute, so as our creator isn’t God both our Mother and Father, not two but One? Is our conscience the Christ within? If so hadn’t we better pay close attention to the advice we are given? If Jesus is our brother, and He said, “I and my Father are one.” Doesn’t that mean that we also are God’s children with all the rights of birth? Shouldn’t prayer be thanking God for our blessings rather than asking for favors? When you pray asking for Mary or Jesus to intercede in your behalf, are you worshiping them rather than God? 612 words Loretta Ellen Edwards © 2017 Loretta Edwards |
