How True?

            “Murder, rape, child abuse, homelessness of complete families, nature gone wild, and wars all over the world. That is all you hear anymore. I just don’t understand how a good, loving God can allow these horrible things to happen!!”

            “That is true. You don’t understand. Do not cruse God for the punishment that you inflect upon yourself.”

            “Oh, come on. You don’t expect me to believe that I cause my own problems-let alone the destructive weather and world conditions?”

            “And I can’t believe that you place the blame on God’s shoulders and are satisfied to live with that answer!”

            “OK, if you’re so smart what is the answer?”

            I don’t claim to know. I will tell you, based on study and common sense, what I have come to believe. I long ago decided that the hypnotic influence of the human race consciousness, in regard to religion, is basically misconceived. Many widespread traditions have been built up through the blind acceptance of false concepts introduced by people that we assumed know more than we do. In school we never question what we are taught. The teacher knows, we learn. In church the minister knows, we listen and believe. More and more people believe the ‘facts’ they are taught until they have no reason to question. They are accepted as true and unchallengeable. They may be true. If they are they can withstand any challenge you throw at them and then you will Know for yourself that they are true. If your truth shatters under scrutiny; you should know this too, so that you can search for what is true.

            A point to consider, that is widely accepted, is that God sent Jesus to die on the cross as a blood sacrifice for our sins. If that is true (and this is for you to decide) that God wants blood why did He allow Abraham to spare Isaac? And why would God need the warm blood from Jesus’ body, when God makes all of the blood for each new baby born? Why did Jesus call the temple, which as a Jew he had a deep respect for, “a den of thieves,” and set the sacrificial animals free? The animals were for God. Did Jesus sin by setting them free? My opinion is when Jesus said, “For this purpose was I sent,” he was telling us that His mission was to teach us to be healthy, happy and to love and trust God in everything.

            Adam and Eve were the only people in Eden, so where did Cain find a wife? I am sure you wonder about this and other ideas that bother you. We must think for ourselves, arrive at conclusions after a fearless ability to examine the facts until they make sense to us. Each of us, through our inner nature has direct access to our Source. We don’t need an intermediary-only an interest to seek with a sincere desire and you will find.

            I said you don’t understand and I stand by my statement. If you understood even a fraction of what Jesus tried so hard to teach us about the Father, you would understand that not one of the atrocious evils that the world suffers from were sent from or by God. Where then? Satan? NO! From our false belief in a second power. God is the only Power and that power is all good.

            We are born with the Christ within (which we call our conscience) which will keep us on the straight and narrow when we listen. We have Infinite Mind to explain the Truth and establish that in Truth there is No Evil.

            We live in the presence of God’s smile. That is the Truth that nothing can change.
