Just To Good

Just To Good

A Story by Loretta Edwards

Just Too Good

How good is good? How true is truth? How long can happiness last?

We have all been given the sage advice, “If it sounds too good to be true"Well then, it probably is.” And all of us have bit on something that turned out to be less then the advertisement claimed, cost more then it was worth, and made us a believer in the quote, “Let the buyer beware.”

There are other slogans that express our disappointment in human nature. “Good guys finish last.” “Life is a bowl of cherries"full of pits.” “No good deed goes unpunished.” “Don’t believe anything that you read and only half of what you see.” OK, I could go on and on, but you have heard it all and you get my point.

You have had your share of disappointments and they have left you cautious and cynical and not very happy. I understand that you will be skeptical, but I have an offer that you cannot refuse. It is the deal of a lifetime. And it will not cost you one red cent.

I appreciate your skepticism. This offer should be questioned, examined in detail, and investigated thoroughly. This offer is open to everyone regardless of race, color, age, nationality or any other consideration. The only stipulation is that you completely accept it, right away, without reservations or doubts, and make use of it. The sooner that you take advantage of this offer the sooner you can be happy.

Are you ready? “It is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom!” Can you believe that? Think about this for a minute. Think about what this really means.

Now at first when God gives us the ingredients for our daily bread, we may complain because we have to mix the ingredients, knead the dough and bake the bread. However, as we become more familiar, acquainted, intimate and comfortable with the process, we will find it natural for the loaf to be ready for us.

We look at the world and see sin, disease and death, not a pretty picture.  Worse, we sincerely believe that God has ordained it to be this way. Not at all true. God is with us here on earth and we do not need to suffer or die to find the rewards that God wants to give us. We look at the world with human eyes and human beliefs and we suffer. Drop the human and take a chance on God’s Spiritual Reality. I am not talking religion here. I am talking spirituality. A Big Difference!

Religion, has been the cause of arguments, conflict, and most wars. Why is that? Because orthodox religion tells us what to think to become a good Christian and anyone who doesn’t believe ‘our way’ is our enemy. People want to believe what other people tell them and belong to a group that agrees with them. Just because you all believe the same way doesn’t make it right. Most of us used to believe in Santa Claus, did that make him real? Religion often leads us away from God. You can stick a candle into the dark, but you can’t stick the dark into the light.

The spiritual comes from believing all of the promises, in the Bible, that sound too good to be true, but they really are True. The promises are from God and He does not make promises lightly. He won’t promise what He can’t deliver. Our Father created us rulers, victors,- not victims.

Too good to be true?                         Or absolutely true?

                             Decide for yourself.
