TV Frequency

A Poem by Ernie Roman
"

turn off the TV.propaganda.2004

"

Tonight's the night we turn on Fox
8/7 central it's a double dose of Cops
Running down the block, kid gets shot
Televised brutality, no one calls for it to stop
Patriot Act, modern day COINTELPRO
Got the pigs actin like the Gestapo
Anyone to anyone a threat to the State
Raiding computers for anti-war poetic words we state
Prison-industry, privately owned stocks
The police protect and serve those with the stocks
I wonder when all this is gonna stop
Just stay tuned for the news on Fox

King George II started a war with Iraq
Son of a drug-lord, the one who sold crack
When his old man couldn't kill Hussein
The people mocked him and called him insane
But they found him in a hole, made it a show
For the world to see, a spectacle for sure
The O'Reilly Factor, talking about fairness, ha
Pushing forth silly right-wing agendas
For Bush the f****n racist dope pusher
Cutting student aid to aid the war overseas
F**k it, let’s see what’s poppin on (e)M(p)T(y)-V

The epitome of American mentality
Mentality based on sexuality
Prancing half-naked b*****s up and down the beach
Guys sexually assaulting every girl within reach
Substance-less music, sexist embedded vision
Same s**t in the videos, monotonous material
Emphasis on the dollar bill, not the will
To revolutionize the negative signs
Dumbing down your life and mind
Break yo’ chains before we see ABC.

Pat Robertson's 700 Club with Jerry Falwell
Talking about how we all going to hell
Sitting, figuring out which cartoon is gay
Beware the false prophet, they preach every Sunday
That's them, child molesting crackheads, it’s on
Lying to us, f**k your white Jesus and Babylon
The Pope, tick-tock, waiting for his last breath
Condemn every child-molesting Priest to death
Time for infomercials to sell that 9-11 s**t

Flag waves on the screen, what does it stand for
Constitution states no rights for the poor
Taxes used for wars we don’t support
CIA, FBI-top terrorists cells
Peace sells but who’s buying, not the US
Who employ terrorists with carelessness
Like Osama who seeped into this nation
Seeking theological world domination

Snow TV, slip in and out of consciousness
Wondering why you can’t see the obviousness
The hypocrisy of the flag and crucifix
Sick, sick game these rulers play, no escape
A few new laws, make you believe things have changed
But ain’t s**t changed, same s**t we faced back in the day
6am, morning news, today’s top story

New criminals took oath for more revenue
Tax cheats and business goons, this is our new
Council of Criminals, displacing artistic venues
Poetry slams are now one in a few
Soulless businessmen making loot on empty promotions
Turn the town into a plantation, no room for poetic emotions

This is damnation
Turn us into government drones
Business clones for this damn nation
We getting eaten by this nation
Terrorized at the police station

Time now to refuse, resist, and revolt
Know your enemies
They bust you, bust them right back
Even the score

They owe us, still reparations ain’t paid
Got a job and pay, still you ain’t got it made
Don’t be fooled by them wannabe down fuckers saying it’s okay

See we gonna have to get free ourselves
Not gonna happen by sitting by the TV

Tune it all out, let’s kill the frequency.
