This Room

This Room

A Poem by Jonathan Matthews
"

A poem about a room.

"
In this room
there seems to be much confusion.
In this room
there is all too much delusion.

Terror strikes the mind,
and fear grips the heart.
In this room
it will tear you apart.

The icy grasp of death
comes far too close to life.
In this room
nothing exists but pain and strife.

Reality collides with falsehood.
Nothing and all is real.
In this room
your wounds never heal.

In this room
escape by any means.
In this room
deliverance is never as it seems.
