A Cry For Acceptance

A Cry For Acceptance

A Poem by Jonathan Matthews
"

A kinda depressing poem of rejection.

"
Cast out by heaven,
Denied by Hell,
Rejected by all,
Here's where I fell.

Alone in the dark,
Companion of sorrow,
Acceptance will always
Escape from the morrow.

Beaten and bruised,
Bloody and battered,
I've been expelled
From all things that mattered.

Who can I trust
When all I hold dear
Has been ripped from my heart
And replaced by deep fear?

How can I believe
Your acceptance is real?
I've been so deceived
That pain's all I feel.

Come ease the pain!
If you can, please extinguish
The fires in my soul.
Remove all my anguish.

But do not touch
My tender heart.
You may cause it
To fall apart.

Accept me now,
The way I stand.
I can't live up
To your demand.

We all go through trials and tribulations, hurt and pain...even feeling like we don't measure up to someone we hold dear. This comes about when we don't like ourselves. I do get your message. I'm sure there are others out here who feel the same way. Excellent!
