Chapter 42

A little bit of filler and a little bit of story. The story is picking up :-)

Evito sat in the towere library, reading three books at once. Paulatim was frantically rushing around the library looking for more books. Evito had apparently had a realization about something and had ordered Paulatim to begin bringing him all the spellbooks he could find, but did not tell him why.

"Why would there be a spell to CREATE a barrier, but not one to break it?"Evito said angrily, setting another spellbook in fire in anger.

"Master-"Paulatim began, but Evito launched a book shelf at him and he was forced to dive out of the way quickly.

"I do not need your help!"Evito snapped angrily. Paulatim stepped towards Evito reluctantly.

"I have found a book that may help you,"Paulatim said quickly.

Evito stared at him. Perhaps he would be useful.

"Bring it to me,"Evito said quietly and Paulatim handed him the book.

"Seal of the Ages,"Evito read to himself quietly. He opened the book and read the table of contents quickly. He turned to a page that contained a spell that had caught his interest. He read through the spell, making sure to take in any important details that he thought he would need.

"Paulatim,"Evito said quietly and Paulatim stepped forward.

"Y-yes, my Lord?"

"Thank you,"Evito said, stroding out of the library quickly.

Evito walked back into their main room.

"Now, I wait,"he said and he sat down in the middle of the floor, meditating.

 

In the main area of the Sacred Palace, Michael and Taira were watching a funny scene unfold.

"I'll do it,"Ashleigh insisted.

"Don't worry, I've got it!"Roran said.

"Why don't you both do it?"Michael asked.

"Because they're too slow to think of something like that,"Taira said.

Daniel walked into the foyer just in time to hear Ashleigh and Roran protest against the insult.

"What are they fighting about?"Daniel asked.

"Who's gonna go to the store,"Michael said.

"Move!"Ashleigh said as Roran tried to get out of the front doors quickly. She tried to squeeze by him and they ended up getting stuck.

"Look what you did!"Roran said.

"What I did?"Ashleigh said indignantly."You're the one who wouldn't get out of the way!"

"Just go backwards so I can get out!"Roran ordered.

"Why don't you go back?"Ashleigh asked.

"Just do as I say!"

"I don't listen to you!"

"Well, now you do!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"Guys-"Michael said, trying to get their attention.

"Sexist!"Ashleigh said.

"How am I sexist?"Roran demanded.

"You don't want me going because you don't think I'm capable of shopping because I'm a girl!"

"Actually, I think you're the sexist!"

"Me?"Ashleigh said in shock."I'm insulted!"

"How do you think I feel?"

"Egotistical-"

"Obnoxious-"

"Shrimpy-"

"Fatty-"

"FATTY?!"Ashleigh roared and out of fright, Roran broke free of the doorway, running away from Ashleigh wildly.

"I'm sorry!"Roran yelled as Ashleigh chased after him, swinging her sword at his back wildly.

"Ashleigh stop!"Taira yelled, running after her.

"Daniel, Michael, help me!"Roran squealed as Ashleigh's sword narrowly missed his head.

Michael and Daniel looked at each other.

"I, uh, have to go take a spaghetti shower,"Michael said, going back to the hidden room.

"And, I, uh, have to go...with Michael!"Daniel said, and he followed Michael.

"What the hell's a spaghetti shower?!"Roran yelled, quickly hiding behind a pillar as Ashleigh threw a large rock at his head. Taira, finally giving up, headed to the store.

Amber walked into the foyer, trying to locate the source of all the commotion, just in time for Ashleigh to throw her sword at Roran, who had just ran in front of Amber crazily. Amber ducked quickly and crawled out of the foyer, pretty sure that she was traumatized from her near-death experience.

 

"Ashleigh, how long are you going to wait?"Roran asked.

"Until you come down!"Ashleigh said, looking up at Roran, who was sitting on the branch of a tree outside the Sacred Palace, only able to be seen through the leaves because of the moonlight.

"Guys, it's past midnight,"Amber said, checking up on the two of them.

"Okay, be there in a moment,"Ashleigh said and she looked up evily at Roran. Amber shrugged and went back to bed.

"Here I come,"Ashleigh said and she started climbing up the tree as Roran squealed in fright.
