Chapter 29

A Chapter by Eidolon Michael

Will the group escape from Angel? Only I know! BWAHAHA! Jk Btw this is the last chapter before the Part 2 finale.

"So why are we on the roof?"Daniel asked.

They had all arrived just a few seconds ago and it had just occured to Daniel that a decoy was supposed to take the helicopter, not them.

"She's expecting us to do something like a decoy,"Roran said."

"You said it would be a matter of guessing!"Amber said angrily.

"Well, I jsut received reports from outside sources that Angel has been informed of our plans,"Roran said, stepping inside the large white helicopter situated in the center of the roof.

"Why's it white?"Rene asked.

"It looks like a cloud,"Ralph answered. Roran nodded from inside the helicopter.

"Get in,"he ordered and Rene went in, Ralph and Amber sitting on both sides of her in the back, leaving Daniel to sit up front with Roran and the driver.

"Everyone ready?"Roran asked.

"Wait!"Rene said suddenly."If Angel doesn't see us escape through the front then..."

"She'll assume we left like this,"Roran said."Like Ralph said, let's hope she's a bad guesser."

And Angel was.

They managed to escape from the hotle and head home without any problems or reports of a massacre of people at the hotel.

"Why is Angel trying to kill me?"Rene asked aloud after thirty minutes on thinking to herself about it.

"We don't know,"Roran said.

"Who's 'we'?"Ralph asked.

"You'll see,"Roran said quietly.

After another ten minutes of flying in silence, they began to land. Rene took note of the fact that they were landing where Dunelia Castle used to be.

They landed easily and stepped out. Daniel gave an "eep" of fright when he saw who was waiting for them.

"You devious little liar!"Michael said angrily as she stormed towards them. He stepped in front of Daniel and glared at him.

"Michael, I can explain-"Daniel began but Ralph interuppted.

"Michael, I asked Daniel to hide it,"Ralph admitted."He's done that very well it seems. Don't be mad at him."

Michael looked at Ralph, then Daniel, and Ralph again.

"Whatever,"Michael said.

"Michael..."Roran said quietly, motioning to Rene, who stepped forward shyly.

"Your Highness,"Michael said, getting to one knee in a majestic bow.

"Please, just call me Rene,"Rene said with a small laugh.

"Rene!"a voice squealed and Taira came running and practically tackled Rene.

"Taira, what are you doing here?"Rene asked.

"I heard about Angel's attack from Roran,"Taira explainged, releasing Rene and looking at Roran. "Thank you,"she added.

"Wait..."Daniel said slowly. He rounded on Roran.

"You're the one who told Michael we would land here, weren't you?"

"Yes, I was,"Roran said."I felt it would be necessary to have the remaining people to gather together."

"What do you mean?"Daniel asked. Ralph, however asked a very different question.

"Where's Dante?"

Michael and Roran exchanged a glance.

"You mean..."Daniel said quietly and Michael nodded. Daniel gasped in horror.

"I wasn't even here!"Daniel cried sadly.

Ralph looked at the three of them. In all of his excitement of seeing Daniel again, he had completely forgotten about what Michael ahd told them the day before New Year's Eve.

How could he have forgotten?!

"So where is he?"Rene asked.

"What do you mean?"Roran asked.

"Well, Ralph cam back,"Rene said,"So why not Dante?"

"That's right!"Daniel said happily,"He'll show up eventually!"

"Ok,"Michael said,"Now that we're all safe for now, what do we do next?"

"If Angel's trying to kill Rene, we have three things to do ,"Amber said."One-figure out why. She must have a reason for trying to kill her own sister. Two-keep Rene safe until we do our third objective-stop Angel."

"That makes sense,"Ralph said."But what about school?"

"I'll be there,"Amber said."Michael and Roran come to the same school, so she'll be safe. But Daniel and Ralph, you be careful too, okay?"

"Got it,"Ralph and Daniel said.

"We should probably contact each other only at home,"Roran said."We don't need Angel intercepting calls or messages."

"He's right,"Michael said."Speaking of home..."

"I'm staying with Rene,"Ralph said.

"Why?"Michael asked.

"She helped me,"Ralph answered simply."She and Queen Shayla saved my life. So I'm going to help her find her mom's killer and protect her from Angel."

"That's why you wanted to stay hidden, isn't it?"Daniel asked.

"Yes,"Ralph nodded,"I thought if you found out you would force me to come back. I'm sorry."

"It's your choice,"Michael said.

"We should get home,"Roran said and MIchael, Daniel, Taira, and Roran said good-bye and left.

Rene and Amber stood, watching them leave for a minute. Then Rene spoke.

"You were right."

"Of course,"Amber said."I knew he had a good reason."

Rene chuckled and she and Amber began to head home.
