Chapter 23

Spring Break has arrived! What will the break have in store for everyone? Part 1/5

Ralph had felt really in debt to Daniel for helping him, so when he made plans to go to the beach for Spring Break in the middle of March, he immediatly invited Daniel, who told Michael that he was going to the beach for a week with friends, who allowed him to go, and the plan was made. Rene had decided to go along only because Ralph asked her to and only if Amber went with them. She knew Daniel and Ralph would be spending all their time together and she did not want to be left out.

So two days later, they had headed out to Dunelia Resort, a beach-side paradise that, no matter the time of year, never went below seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit.

It was the first day of Spring Break and the four had decided to go to the beach. Rene and Amber were basking in the sun and Daniel and Ralph were building a sand castle together.

"Are you glad we came?"Amber asked Rene.

"Actually, I am,"Rene said with a smile."It's doing me some good to be here away from home."

"Thanks for inviting me,"Daniel said to Ralph as he made a sand tower by hand.

"It's the least I could do to repay you for helping me,"Ralph said,"Plus, it wouldn't be as fun without you."

Daniel didn't look at Ralph, but his cheeks burned slightly nonetheless.

"Wanna go swimming?"Rene asked Amber.

"No, I'm comfortable,"Amber said, laying out in the sun in a red bikini. Rene looked at Daniel and Ralph who were having a splash fight in the water now. She actually felt slightly jealous that it wasn't her with Ralph. But why should she be jealous? It wasn't like they liked each other...right?

"Ow, my eye!"Daniel squealed as Ralph splashed him in the face.

"I'm sorry!"Ralph said, swimming over to Daniel. However, Daniel had tricked him and tackled him, pulling him underwater with himself. Ralph broke free of Daniel and went back to the surface, Daniel right beside him.

"Cheater,"Ralph said with a grin.

"Your face!"Daniel said, also with a grin.

"Well, then that makes both of us,"Ralph said, putting one hand on top of Daniel's head, who looked up at it just before Ralph dunked him.

Daniel came up sputtering and hissing like a cat. Ralph laughed and Daniel dunked him.

Rene looked at Amber, who was reading.

"How can you read at a beach?"Rene asked.

"Easily. It makes me look smart. Guys love the smart girls,"Amber said.

"If you say so,"Rene said, rolling her eyes. Amber laughed. Rene looked back to Ralph and Daniel to see them racing in the water.

"I'm gonna win!"Daniel said and Ralph grabbed onto his feet.

"No you're not!"Ralph laughed and Daniel's foot came out of nowhere and hit him in the nose.

"Ow,"Ralph said, letting go of Daniel's ankle.

"Are you okay?"Daniel asked."Did I break it?"

"No,"Ralph said.

"Well, here,"Daniel said and he kissed Ralph's nose."Better?"

"Not really,"Ralph laughed,"Only Mom's kisses could work pain-relieving miracles."

"Well at least I tried!"Daniel said.

"Yeah,"Ralph said,"Yeah you did.

Rene, meanwhile, could only stare.

"Daniel's taking my boyfriend!"Rene said.

"He was never yours,"Amber said immediatly, still reading.

"Shut up!"Rene said and she folded her arms and pouted.

Author's Note

Now that I'm having to reread these chapters as I post them, I realize now that these early chapters use reading as a weird way of ending up a comedy moment lol Thanks for reading ^_^
