Chapter 22

A Chapter by Eidolon Michael

Daniel has to be quick on his feet to keep Ralph a secret. This is "Michael Intervines Part 2"

Daniel walked ahead of Michael, thinking quickly. Michael was right behind him, letting Daniel lead the way. How could he escape? He saw a bathroom to his right...

"Bathroom!"Daniel said, bolting at full speed into the bathroom and into the first stall. He stood on the toilet to his his feet. He heard Michael walk in.

"Are you okay?"Michael asked."Did you eat something bad this morning?"

Daniel saw his shadow go past his stall and he quickly climbed over the wall, hanging on by his fingertips an dlanding lightly on his toes. He looked around the corner and saw that Michael had turned around. He quickly snuck out and sprinted dow the hallway, running into the classroom about twenty feet down on the left.

"Ralph!"Daniel yelled, closing the door behind him quickly.

"Daniel, there is no reason to come in so disruptively,"the teacher said, though Daniel ignored him.

"What is it?"Ralph said, running up to Daniel, ignoring the entire class watching them.

"Michael's here!"Daniel whispred and Ralph's eyes grew large in horror. Daniel quickly looked out the door window and saw Michael looking into the classroom across the hall. Daniel quickly pulled Ralph to right beside the door, just as Michael walked in.

The moment Michael walked into the room, Daniel grabbed Ralph's hand and slammed his way past Michael, leaving him in a heap on the ground. Daniel quickly ran up the stairs to the left of teh classroom across the hall. As he ran he heard his teacher asking Michael,

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine!"Daniel heard Michael answer and Daniel knew he would be following shortly.

Daniel and Ralph quickly arrived on the second floor and looked left and right. Daniel took the left path, charging into the library at the end of the hallway. He burst through the doors, said, "He needs to hide here!" to the librarian, who nodded and allowed Ralph to jump over the counter and hide behind it. Daniel quickly looked as though he was examing the books, attempting to catch his breath and mop the sweat off of his face.

"What were you doing?"Daniel heard Michael demand behind him."Why did you knock me down?"

"I didn't,"Daniel said, still examing the books."It must have been some hoodlum."

"Well, why are you here?" Michael asked."And why did you leave me?"

"I'm sorry,"Daniel said, turning around and looking at Michael."I thought you saw me come out of the bathroom. I came here because I had to do some research real fast. Sorry if I worried you."

Michael sighed.

"It's okay,"Michael said."To be honest, I wanted to see if Ralph was here."

We were right,Daniel thought.

"Sorry if I scared or hurt you,"Michael said."And I'm sorry for being rude to you yesterday."

Daniel nodded and Michael left the library. Daniel waited for about three minutes before he said,"He left,"to Ralph. Ralph jumped over the counter again and looked at Daniel, his face expressionless.

"Thank you,"Daniel said to the librarian, who said,"You're welcome" and smiled. Daniel turned to Ralph who signaled for Daniel to follow him.

Ralph led the way all the way down the hallway. Daniel hoped Ralph wouldn't be mad at him for dragging him. He had no choice. Ralph led him into the bathrom on the second floor.

Suddenly Ralph turned to Daniel and hugged him tightly.

"Thank you!"Ralph said, still hugging Daniel.

"A-anytime,"Daniel said, blushing. Once again the question popped into his head-why was he blushing?

They heard the bell rin for the end of class and they quickly ran to their classroom, grabbed their bags and quickly went to lunch.
