There once were dragonsA Poem by Claire ChittyThere once were dragons and hero's abound, and great thundery mountains 'mongst valleys of cloud. The bards did travel singing songs to astound painting pictures of rescues, impossible feats, treasures found. Many hearts did quicken in chivalrous awe inspiring deep lessons and many silvery sword. The men ran to battle called to arms by the faith, leaving behind their chattel to seek legends and fame. The ravens now wonder among dead by the score, and the once mighty banner now lies muddied and torn. For these are our hero's, our dragons are men. Our follies are human, our fairy-tales dead
