Isolated ole Me

Isolated ole Me

A Poem by Quietstorm
"

About a young woman wanting to be left alone

"
*Isolated ole me*
I envisioned a girl who is physically aware that she is mentally strained
It's hard to love these days,
so now she's emotionally drained.

Finding it hard to cope in this corrupt world.
So herself she must refrain from all outside connections .
She has no need for affection.
Only a temporary place for solace ,
A place that doesn't try to hide the lies that's right in her face.

But their truth she cannot relate to When she's invited to join in their wickedness, she politely says "no thank you".

She just wants to be alone with no friends, no TV, no music , and no phone , just pure silence.
She's sick of all the violence ,
so she isolates herself in her temporary confinement.

A dark hollow place that she strangely finds desiring.
A place where darkness sometimes consumes her light.
Headed down a road that leads to destruction,
while all along her heart just wants to do right.

She is mis-guided and Confused.
In a world where most people are deceitful, misunderstood ,and mentally abused.
Mistaking the day for night.
she just want to live right .

Live In a world where acts of kindness is simply free.
I don't want to be consumed in this world she says .
I'd rather be alone, and at peace instead.
So leave me alone and let me be..... "isolated Lil ole me"

Trauma can make people want to isolate . If they are away from everyone else, then they aren't going to add other stuff to an already bad situation. I understood this poem and your feelings as a young person close to me has suffered in this way. It was debilitating for him, but he is doing much better now. I hope you are in a better place too. You convey your emotions well here, and your writing flows.

I think this describes a symptom of PTSD shared across genders perfectly. Absolutely perfectly.

And I think it's pretty well written, very easy to read with a good amount of meaning. Well done.
