i've never been much of a love poet

i've never been much of a love poet

A Poem by 3thanmotionless

No matter how hard I try,
I could never adequately describe the beauty in your eyes,
Or the warmth in your smile
But I could easily show the pain I felt when you decided not to try
When you told me it just wasn’t worth your time
There aren’t even words to describe how I felt as your lips touched mine,
And there’s a million that fit my sadness just fine

I wish I could write about the night we spent together,
All butterflies you gave me and how I wished it could last forever
I’ll never be able to write about how we first met.
How there wasn’t a single strand of your hair that was where you wanted it to be,
And your natural beauty showed me right where I needed to be.

Although I could never tell our beautiful story,
I would have no problem telling the world that I am not the man with whom you’ll ever be.
