She Sits and WaitsA Poem by Sierra D3Someone close to me at the time, made me feel foolish for waiting on them to show they cared.
She sits , head low, heart heavy.
Completely different from the girl sitting there seconds earlier. That girl who was filled with excitement, all happy and eager to see him. To be able to hold him close to her, embracing the warm feeling of love that he washes over her. Her excitement, and eagerness only eggs on her hope. The hope to be with him again. To spend time that seems to stop upon his arrival, with the one she would do anything for. She sits and waits. Phone clutched in anxious hands. Stomach filled with butterflies. Though she sits quietly, she screams within. She screams for his touch She screams for his voice to reach her ears She screams for his lips, to melt her into him. She screams for his love. In that moment of waiting. She no longer wants him, she needs him. All walls are down. Her heart is open Vulnerable Something she is scared of vulnerability That which seems foolish, a invitation to pain. Yet she sits And she waits. Soon time , as it does best, pass. With it her hope, goes lower and lower No reassuring word comes No words that will set her at ease Nothing Vulnerability wins And then she sits no longer that girl she was moments earlier Now feeling ashamed Now feeling foolish She sits Head low Heart heavy © 2016 Sierra D3Author's Note
