A Poem by Sierra D3
"

I just felt like I should write something and then boom this happen so ...hahaha yeah.

"
I smile to keep from crying
Everyday I spend my hours trying
To keep my self denying
That I'm not afraid of dying

To walk up to those pearly gates
To walk the path that holds my faith
To read the wrongs that have been written
Standing there waiting for my sentence

Looking back at all the mistakes I've made
To all the mean tricks and games I played
To the people I made shudder with fear
My evil ways are apparently clear.

I cry to keep from smiling
I stop spending my hours trying
To live my live denying
That I'm afraid of dying

I like that this speaks to the humility in people no matter how much we try to save face...we're all human beings and we all make mistakes and do things we are not proud of. If we just swallowed our pride and were open with one another I think we could reach a level of understanding that has never been achieved on a massive scale but has been proven time and time again through smaller personal accounts whether at war or within communities.

This poem seems to come from your heart, imagination, intention - what- and whichever. You've found such gentle, hopeful words - or, maybe they've found you. Whichever it is, they're inside you for a reason, give you food for thought. The actual format is fine, the meter's off in a few places but that doesn't detract one little bit. Thank you so much for sharing.

I LOVE this piece. This is so deep and so emotional. Insightful too. There's pain, fear, confusion. I felt all of it because you penned it well. Thanks for writing!
