Absolution

Absolution

A Poem by 3liud

#My absolution!
Lateness might have already cropped in
However, I hope a chance is still available for me to see some light and maybe fetch you those last grapes from the vine down a slope
I was wrong I attest
I apologize with my absolution!

You don' have to keep repeating,
I failed and am grieving on it
Forgive my err, and maybe I will be able to accept this absolution
Can't forgive myself lest you do
I cowed and ran, now am back on my knees
Pain and regret weighing me down
Come on and lift off this regret off my back and I can stand again
Speak to me once more, and I can part my lips for a kiss maybe on your cheek.

Bring another chance my way
This time I will fetch that thorny rose
And fear not the pricks from the thorns
I will stand in the rain and hold your arms in that social place you hung out
I open my mouth and let this croaky voice coin a rhyme
And attempt to make it rhyme
Sing to you, and maybe you will fall asleep in my arms
I kiss you a “goodnight beautiful”
Then my absolution will be absolute!
