NightmareA Poem by jenV
As I hike these trails
Secluded in a wave of solitary confinement, I scrape away these wounds In an act of medical debridement, Running and running Attempting an escape like a screaming banshee, An escapee Kicking and tripping over rocks, Fiercely muddied with soiled up socks, Safe, I am finally able to take stock Of what remains; Safe as I am, as I always was I realize that nature was leading me Around and around Like a Merry, it goes But I am safe now, as I realize, I always was. As I hike these trails And all they entail, With every zig and every zag Enveloped in all the Fall foliage swag, Safe as I am, as I always was I realize that nature was guiding me Through, onward towards that luminary Shown so bright, for I am safe now, as I realize, I have always been. © 2017 jenVAuthor's Note
