I IMAGINEA Poem by jenVI don't necessarily imagine a utopic world, just a world that is tolerant enough to be accepting of ALL of it's different inhabitants...not wishful thinking, just hopeful!Struggling along for all to see, Boundless and free is how I choose to be, But how do I get there and is anyone willing to share? I would imagine a carefree world With bundles of joy strewn everywhere, And faint laughter with joyous chorus For ALL to hear;
I would imagine glowing faces With smiles abound, And a shortage of spaces For those with frowns;
I would imagine palatial homes With dark blue infinity pools, A screeching chatter with amicable undertones, And an abundance of well to do, over the top, thought-provoking schools;
I would imagine a world of openness That is encouraged by everyone, With an eradication of the ignorant chauvinist And in their place, an appreciation that is discouraged by none;
I would imagine the ability to start anew When we fail to thrive, With the opportunity to be led askew Yet still feel accomplished and alive;
I imagine never ending possibilities For ALL to explore, With a litany of boisterous & confidant pleas For there to be SO many more;
I imagine this world will never be, I imagine the conflict and war Seen in today's society Is too difficult to ignore, So, despite our need to be boundless & free, I imagine we will ALL continue to struggle along for ALL to see... © 2014 jenV |
