i stared into your eyes,
saw my image ,
in your pupils,
learnt that ,
you see,
straight through me,
like am a lonely ghost,
or like,
a one way mirror,
love is giving someone,
the power,
to destroy you,
and trusting them not to,
love is,
learning to walk,
in my shoes,
like they're yours,
learning to walk,
past your horizon,
yearning to talk,
about absolutely nothing,
their smile outweighs,
a billion words,
leaves a fire in your heart,
and it keeps burning,
in a fragile,
heart,
it is puting a volcano in a glass jar,
with care ,
it will go far
There were a few famous quotes in here that I connect with. I feel like at the beginning you were talking to someone special and then in the middle you start talking to an audience. I'm not sure how I feel about that but it made me feel like you were talking more about the cliches of love or what you've heard about love than something you've actually experienced. I was looking for some really powerful lines at the end of this poem called "Love". Not as heart felt as I would have imagined. It's certainly interesting, I read it more than once.
You have so beautifully tried to portray love. I can connect.. Love the lines 'love is giving the power to destroy you, and trusting them not to'
Keep writing !
Wonderful description of feeling less than an equal. Some amazingly descriptive lines in this, I particularly like love is giving someone, the power, to destroy you, and trusting them not to...in a fragile, heart, it is putting a volcano in a glass jar... a lonely ghost, a one way mirror. Wonderfully structured, can feel the pain in every line.
