Aglimpse into tomorrow's face.

Aglimpse into tomorrow's face.

A Poem by Keith.

The waves of time wash over me, a tireless unrelenting sea
Anointing like a sun kissed prism, an oceanic catechism
Sometimes baptismal, sometimes deep, so much of life I need to keep
So much of prose so much of verse, a sort of deep poetic nurse
That lifts my heart and feeds my soul, a panacea that keeps me whole
Sometimes so stormy sometimes still, sometimes a cross upon a hill
And sometimes such a sense of peace, the kind that makes life’s problems cease
And sometimes from life’s well I dip, then lift the cup and take a sip.

The sun chased whispering winds of calm, transport my soul away from harm
With peaceful fluttering gentleness, another baptism more or less
That calls me forth and gives me light, when life is dark it gives me bright
And even when its grey clouds blow, it takes me to horizon’s glow,
A glimpse into tomorrow’s face, to lift its veil of dawn touched lace
And give my life continuance, a quiet pause within the dance
To lift me up and look around, from sky to sea, from sea to ground
From sun to stars from stars to moon, from then to now, from late to soon.

The beach of life stretches away, into a strange forever day
That holds so many different things, so many songs its wind chime sings
Of sea shell psalms and sea bird calls, of Autumn wine and gold leaf falls
Of laughter as it slowly fades into so many thoughtful shades,
Of intertwined remembered dreams, where finally life’s sunset gleams
Into its bronze receding flame, a rose by any other name
Grown in a garden once before, another dream another door
A garden seat of yesterday, so much each life still has to say…
