behind my eyes

behind my eyes

A Poem by annie lee

regret runs in rivulets

down inside me.

the illusion of my life

dissolves to reveal

a clumsy skeleton

that mocks me

with mediocrity.

A amazing short poem. You said a lot in so few words. I liked the honest tone lading to the honest ending. Mediocrity is the ending when we fall to false illusions. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
