January 1, 2014A Poem by annie leeThe new year, a new hope
the ebbing of the year: once so slow and languid now speeds along at a breakneck pace. this year is replaced by another and the rhythm resumes: the beat thrumming through my days, the heartbeat of time, steady and true through the crises, the perils, the nightmares and the inexpressible joys of my ebbing life. one more year to reflect upon the wrong turns, to treasure whatever is precious, to reject the darkness, to insist upon the light. as the old year gasps its last and I hang on the precipice of despair, the new year appears, as the golden sun rising in this another new year of my life, and I am restored. © 2014 annie leeReviews
