tricked by the light and blinded by the truthA Poem by annie leerecalling epiphanies
insignificant moments that turn into brilliant epiphanies: I recall such one from years ago. one moment, I was galumphing along in my frumpy Easy Spirit sneakers, and in the flash of a shooting star, the wink of a twinkling eye, I was transformed, made to see with eyes that have been closed, made to hear with ears that have been deaf. fling open those bolted doors and let the feelings cascade in. bathe in that purity of feeling, luxuriate in that realness, look around at newly revealed landscape. Places deep within that have been closed and shuttered and ignored for many years are suddenly flooded with light. I remember who I am. I remember what I love. I remember what I want. I think there is still time. I hope so.
