focusA Poem by annie leedon't let the wishes, daydreams and fairy dust lead you astray
do not consider this moment. keep your eyes fixed on the smudged and vague horizon. you cannot take this moment inside yourself and hold it for even a heartbeat. it is not for you. fold your hands together, look away, close your eyes and think of what you know to be true: think of sharply defined edges of reality, the cold, smooth planes, the flat tones of the landscape of truth. you must not consider this moment. you cannot touch it. surely somewhere there is refuge, but not in the illusion of this moment © 2013 annie lee |
