dawn

dawn

A Poem by annie lee
"

rengo

"

waves of silk unfurled

in the sky, sinuous walls

of billowing silk:

all the colors of fire, red

orange, blue, white, yellow, all

swirling and shifting

in the light wind as day neared.

sadly the walls of

color faded as the sun

rose to rule. the sky turned blue.

This poem has layers. All the layers of the sunrise, regret and sadness swirled in. This poem appears simple at first read. It kind of grabbed me by the collar at the end and told me to delve deeper. This is the kind of stuff I like, girl. Very well done. Angi~

The dawn is indeed more glorious and many faceted than even the most beautiful blue sky... You have painted the picture with your words...

I love the wry grief of this. But yes, I wish I could make dusk and dawn last just a little longer. Most powerful of moments.

nothing like a sunrise...

as melanie sang.."take you an apple and take you a song, watch the baby day be born"

this is such a good poem..intricate in its simplicity because it is like life...so much promise most of us have...but when we rise, often we become just mundane...shining yes, but often the same as everyone else...

the colors gone...the promise of what we could have been, gone.
