curse

curse

A Poem by annie lee
"

men and the circes in the world

"

                             they shall eat lotus

and sleep, sleep.  they shall be turned

                             into swine and back

again to men.  being fair   ---

being dark   ---   they shall make war

                             and occasional

love.  clipper ships   ---   cloudy wine   ---

smiles too soon   ---   death too

late   ---   sowing sorrow and sons   ---

they shall eat lotus and sleep, sleep.
