"Forever Young"

"Forever Young"

A Poem by Ron
"

Written by Karen John. A delightful Mother who is blessed with Rosie a child with autism. Rosie now 14, functions at 6 years of age.

"

I prayed for you

my beautiful child, forever young!

Why did you choose me to be your Mum?

When so many others would have done?

A gift from God, the chosen one

oh precious child, the special one,

so warm, so true, forever young.

You came to me on the chosen day

as pure as snow on that bright, sunny day.

Your face alight, so full of glow,

I knew where we were heading to go;

already written long ago.

Oh precious child forever young,

the reason for living, my purpose in life.

You taught me lessons, I pay the price.

Oh beautiful child, forever young

depends on me until the day is done.

I love you more as each day closes,

through the struggles so unfolded/

Oh beautiful child, forever young,

by your side until my day is done.

Tripped upon this and yes...others MUST read. What a truly beautiful testament of a mother's love... which is perhaps one of the purest there is. A mother loves regardless... and she loves completely, fully and without exception. Beautiful write. Thank her please.

This is such a sad yet beautiful situation. My youngest son went to school with a girl like that, and it was heartbreaking to see her sadness and confusion when all her friends grew and moved on while she stayed the same. While the other girls her age became interested in boys, she still played with dolls and couldn't understand why her old friends no longer wanted to play. It was hard for me to see, but can you imagine how it must have hurt her mother? Like the one in this beautiful poem, she, too, is forever young.
