Just For A Moment

Sometimes, even in the hardest, roughest times of your life, there can be something as simple as a warm feeling that can lift you up, even if it is temporary.

There’s something about the way the rays of sun wash over me

And though I’m feeling lost, for a moment I’ll just be.

My decisions are bad and I’ve chose the wrong road

But for just a moment I’ll expel this heavy load.

The rent is due, and this love is through, darling it’s all gone,

But in this moment, just this moment, I no longer feel like your pawn.

The saddest moments of the past melt from my memory

And there’s something about this feeling, and suddenly I can see.

Maybe I’m dead or maybe I’m high,

Either way, the clouds are gone from the sky

And as I lie down and feel the grass prickle against my skin

I’ll just outstretch and be content with the fact I’ll never win.

And even though the stress is still inside, in the corners of my mind,

For a moment I’ll forget it because it’s so easy to find.

The basic flow isn't as good as I would like it to be, but I hope that the emotion is clear. This is another one that I've actually written recently.
