My 9/11

My 9/11

A Poem by Empty Spaces

im aboned in this building, its eight stories high

when you left, you told me to die

and i watched you go, as i wiped the water from my eyes

you left your lighter, beside my work desk

so i picked it up and aimed for your chest

but i missed and hit a wall, and watched as my important papers went to fall

i payed no mind at first, but then i saw the fire

although it was small, i was scared

i glanced at you, but you were stuck in your stare

as the fire grew closer, so did you

and that is when i realized

i always loved you
