Repressed, Depressed, Short Of Success

Repressed, Depressed, Short Of Success

A Poem by Jake Dunn
"

It's a little bit of something that just appeared in my mind, so I grabbed it and ran with it

"

You're so blind

You can't save me this time

Hope comes from inside

And I feel so low tonight

Something I am done trying to fight

Depression

is the reason for the self-expression

And other people's attempt at repression

So I don't become the next one

The next Dylan and Eric

That reference may be a little esoteric

But it's spot on

Because people look at me funny when I'm not gone

Sent off to the far land known as treatment

Whether it be for months or small trip to a hospital for the weekend

S**t, my incarceration seemed to be oh so convenient

But my 'bullshit' isn't close to the things you haven't seen yet

It's all hidden behind closed doors

The media shows what it wants and no more

It shows us as dangerous, misguided youth

Wanting to misconstrue the truth
