God's Daugher

God's Daugher

A Poem by 23rdstar

I see you sitting there on a pew looking up at the stained glass

The church abandoned except for you

Your headphones clapped to your ears

But the only music is the silence that surrounds you

The thoughts that whirl in your mind never to be spoken

By your lips and tongue

You'll never know that i'm watching from afar

Through the eye of the mind

But how I love you

Dark eyes shut but still brimming with your tears

Face so calm and pale in a golden ray of light

That only a God could send to his daughter

You dream of love

And wonder at the awkwardness of your mind

Feel the weight of the years drifting down through the skies

To land in your heart to grant you the wisdom

That is beyond the time that you have had

You are feeling that there is no one but you

But my love is reaching down through the skies

Up through the earth

To just be recived and known then left behind as you grow

Don't you know little girl that i've been there to

In the dusty places watching the world rush past

And wondering my own place

Baby don't you see that you aren't out of place

And even though they took your voice

You are singing in your mind

For all the wicked world to hear

The sweetness that was given to you before you were ever born
