Who Will?

Who Will?

A Poem by 23rdstar

Who stands upon the top of the watchtower?
Gazing to the north, south, east and west
Ready to sound the warning should trouble come
Their steady eyes alert for the riders
And the colours that they bear fluttering above them as they gallop

Who will play the tune before the crowd
Causing a stir amongst them
And raise a song to cause us to be hale of heart
Full of love for each other and ready to be steadfast
Even while the enemy knocks at the gate

Who will be light the fires
Bringing the hearthflames to a roar
Lighting the dusk as the cooking pots boil and bubble
While the storytellers relate jests and tales
And we sup together as blood, allies and newly found friends

I am a lone freak using my keyboard as a gun to shoot down stars and ask them questions before they go back to the heavens. I serve them the best tea, and make sure that my shot has not wounded them o.. more..
