Silent Goodbye

I'm not a poet. And this sucks. More of a rant I'm putting here for safekeeping, and to express old, childish feelings. Matt, love you should understand this best of all.

You knew

That all along I needed you

 

To cling to

To hold

To trust

To love.

 

So why then did you go away?

After you'd promised me to always stay?

 

Leaving me here with Mom…

I’ve never felt betrayal this strong

 

How could you dad?

How could you just leave me here?

Surrounded by my strongest fears?

Why won’t you come back home?

 

I hate what your leaving did to me

I’m like a fragile bird with no wings

 

Falling

Falling…

Falling……

Falling from the endless sky.

When will I be crushed into the ground?

And the pain will be too much to bear?

 

Because as I am sitting here

Across from the strong man I once knew

I once loved.

Yet you don’t say a word.

 

A dark, midnight marble slab bears your name

Surrounded by the grass of the darkest green

 

Yet the ground between us does not break.

The grass doesn’t part.

The Earth doesn’t move.

I have no way to you.

 

Come back dad

I’m pleading you!

 

Things wouldn’t be this bad

Couldn’t be this hard

If you hadn’t done this to me;

Left without even saying goodbye.
