Glass shards

Glass shards

A Poem by Olivia Danielle

How cold liquid from a corner store

The kind that is served in a glass bottle

The kind that can show you your reflection

Could forever change you

Every time you feel that sour slither

Every time you stare down the black hole of an empty bottle

You think painfully of me

You smash the bottle

Watch the glass shards dance across the wet pavement

They have more joy than you

Too afraid to face your mistakes

Too scared to face your family

Too heartbroken to think you deserve love

I step on the glass shards

I think nothing

I keep walking

I always see you

The same you that you always were

You see someone that can be washed away

You let the drink change you

You just post masterpiece after masterpiece! I love this one and the aspect of glass throughout it, and a drink. I'm shocked this doesn't have any reviews yet, because it's just another amazing poem by you. (:
