Remember me?

Remember me?

A Poem by Olivia Danielle

You were my first love

My first heartbreak

The only person that circled my mind everyday

The one who made me abandon my principles

Every time I would try to approach you, I got lost in the green irises of your eyes

I tried to pretend you weren’t there

Easier said than done

Your crimson hair stood out of the crowd

I never truly understood why I fell for you

Even now I ponder

I’ll move on, I tell myself

But I never do

Every girl you’re seen with seems like a threat

I could’ve kept you when I had you

But I didn’t

Perhaps this hurt I feel will become a part of me

I hope you notice me now

And my life

I’m better than ever without you

You were my first love

My first heartbreak

The one who circled my mind everyday

The one who made me abandon all my principles

From the bottom of my heart

I genuinely want to say

Thank you for being in my life

Now get the hell out

"Now get the hell out."

That was a statement of growth.
You were my world , but not anymore.
I reminise, my first love-
That I will not ignore.
But I'm shutting that door.

"Get the hell out."

Thank you for writing such amazing ,relatable words.

You are growing.

Has the sound of a lesson learned and a corrected view of the teacher. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. And sometimes bitter.
