What writing is to me

What writing is to me

A Story by Laura Williamson
"

Why I write, what inspires me, blah, blah, blah.

"

Writing. Thoughts etched onto a pad of paper through the use of a good quality biro… Or a half broken one which is usually the case for me. Inspiration can come in any form be it Primary school days of charging round the playground, where we would imagine we were princesses or knights or dragons; or passing somebody in the street and a character being born. Books, films and events shaped the words I wrote when I was younger, just as they do now… And yes, there is still the odd spelling mistake. In short my writing is basically the contents of my brain scribbled down onto pads of paper, the backs of envelopes; whatever’s close at the time. I’ve probably scared you now haven’t I. You’re thinking “I’ve read her writing, this is the inner monologue in her head, is she a crazy person”. Maybe. Unlike Sheldon Cooper my mother hasn’t had me tested.
