Ocean of Doubt

Ocean of Doubt

A Poem by Carmen Williams

What they see in the mirror

Is not who they really are

Others see them clearer

But the distance between is too far

Wave after wave

Compliments rain down

But they’re stuck in a cave

Their feeling causing them to drown

I want to dive in and bring them back

But I’m chained to shore

And with only words, my impact lacks

and still the tide rises more

I try and I try

and even after they've told me I can go

I still refuse to say goodbye

I want them to know

I'm not going anywhere

I can relate to this a lot. It’s hard to get people to believe you’re being honest to them and it hurts when they say you’re lying. Neat poem!
