Picturesque impoverished

Picturesque impoverished

A Poem by Royal Martinez
"

What entails Life? Fun, work, marriage, kids then death? Some strive for Heaven by being miserable and judging others here on Earth. The Pope wears fine linen and gaudy jewelry, did Jesus?

"

Still blazing trails of creativity in a rage

Eyes would belie even throughout this technological age

        Peering deeply now,

Probably miss the page emblazoned by my,

Alphabetical bytes!

Etchings made courtesy,

Sometimes through scratchiti

Though never solely, its only vehicle

Damned is this curse of envisioning Calligraphy,

While birthed with a farmer’s hand.

Being alive will forever supersede Beauty!

This thought held closer than cleanliness is to living within I

Seek gem-encrusted treasures but

Fall victim to booby traps for,

Greed reverberates further than

Orca sonar along the sea floor

Majestic as a CME,

Cleanliness should be godliness outside the Vatican

Anyone can be pious

Ex-tenants of Eden’s children, us all

Through Pride

As Moses,

Goeth before a fall to ultimately

Come upon the porous wall.

Where Thirst sniffs water to let loose a shrill yet thunderous call,

A place where humans would never see God
