Truth hurts the ignorant lessA Poem by Royal MartinezConformity has molded the human race, enabled our population growth. Yet in a land of purported individuality, the herd mentality still exists. And it is to our detrimentI am a coward! Never to become a martyr, Truth is turned aside in the joust. They do not care, Why die for a dunce, even once? Go forth and work forty hours a week Blindly drink daily, Watch the earnings swirl away in a pissy mood Of course it hurts knowing your brother’s a fool In their faces, instantaneously become uncool! I am a coward, Never to become a martyr! Push harder against an inner threshold. This time, persevere way past, better-than-average. Presently prepared to bend the hinges inward! Introvert become intravenous, Sensitivity’s receptors’ capabilities are beneath, This oh-so-distinctive, level of salacious! They do not care, Why die for a dunce, even once? Education is a must, but onus is on the individual Hence the purpose of, what is the point Without one, they’re all hopelessly, helpless! Wearing belts unbuckled so pants trouser nothing at all, “Because that’s real” And it goes before a fall! Whoever’d switch places with Judas, be dubbed an idiot, Indeed, and so forth Arrogance is first, learnt then perpetuated individually! Ignorance’s definition, still not up to par like Cringer, Tiger-like morph, hailing from someplace named Eternia? Extraterrestrials’ offspring born unto a new habitat, Here in the heartland of America! © 2015 Royal MartinezReviews
