The Tribute

The Tribute

A Poem by Ervin Stuart
"

The only thing between us is death

"

Raise me up, So I can give what I have to you

You are gone, No more memories left to use

I'm alone, Why can't you come back home

I don't want to breathe

I need to lay with you

Lay me down

Just lay me down with you

hope lives inside, waiting for you to come alive

why can't you wake up, open your precious eyes

why suffer, why do I suffer, when you mean nothing to me

why suffer, why do I suffer, the mother f****r baptized me

wakeup wakeup, don't die without me

wakeup wakeup, don't die without me

wakeup wakeup, don't die without me

Death comes to us all, I never thought I see you die

I reach for your hand I reach for the sky

I reach for forgiveness I reach for the knife

I can't stop the desolate screams that will plaque the rest of my life

all I have is your a bruised faced, and distant memories that are starting to waste.

I raise this glass to your memory, I raise this glass to you and me

I'll unlock heavens gate I'll slit St. Peter's throat

I'll find my back to you, I'll find my way

The only thing between us is death.
