Living Hell

Living Hell

A Story by 1blaquote
"

On the outside looking in...

"

No food to eat, raggedy clothes to wear,

no decent shoes for their feet, all because mom doesn't care.

No one to show them love because mom's never there.

On payday, there's only one thing on her mind,

going to the crack house and smoking up every dime!

Does she think about her children? Not one damn time.

At home listening to cries of hungry babies,

she grabs her coat saying,

"Y'all tryin to drive me crazy".

She goes back to the crack house, but she has no money left

and without a second thought, she offers to sell herself.

Lying on the floor witrh her legs cocked,

giving her body to a stranger for a $5 dollar rock...

After she's finished, she goes back home,

looking at those teary eyed children she left alone.

She goes to the kitchen and there's nothing there,

but 1 can of pork & beans and 2 slices of bread,

and she has 5 children that need to be fed.

The thoughts of her suffering children will not change jack,

because as soon as she get her bridge card,

she's going to exchange it for crack!

This drug has destroyed her mind, body, and soul.

Her body is frill, her mind is warped and her soul has a hole.

Will she survive this? Only time will tell,

but in the meanwhile, those poor children are in a

living hell...

Truer words were never written.
this happens so much these days

A stark expose of the 'private' life of a crack fiend. Scary, but real. You weave this poetic tale with details only one who has seen this very same syndrome could understand. You really have to see this to believe that a chemical could hold sway over the vary instincts of maternity, the most primal of the base instincts of the human. A powerful insidious weapon this designer drug is. There are those who applaud its success
The mother has to be held accountable, though she may have been conditioned by a broken lineage/family it's not always the most weak of society who succumb to this drug. This where the master scheme went awry. Crystal meth along with crack has spilled over into the wider society who hasn't been fed up with the fiends and the dealers and the crime. Suburbia is just now really seeing the effects of these designer drugs. The inner cities are already rebounding from the aftershock of these narcotics being introduced into the community. Hold on suburbia, you ain't seen nothing yet.

A wonderful poem. Brilliant commentary of the decay that follows such introduced plaques.

Another tough one to read. You deal in giving out doses of reality well. A behind the headlines look at a life that most don't see, or wan't to see. Another fine job.

Wow. The reality of this is so overwhelming. It hurts to know that kids really go through this stuff. I sense a lot of resentment in your words. I could tell these things really affect you.
