StrangerA Poem by MaddyA transformation from brother to stranger.
He broke bit by bit
Each blow worse than the last She played him like a game Toying with who he was I watched the transformation Saw the terror in his eyes And he fell out of my grasp Drifting away from who he was She kept coming back with a smile Saying she changed And he believed her Believed the girl who left him every time Maybe it was a fascination Maybe he was really in love He wanted to marry her Both only 16 And then he snapped I knew he was gone The boy I knew as a friend As a sibling He is still here His body that is Breathing, talking to me But the soul I knew is long gone Replaced by a stranger And that stranger is all I have left.
