The Glass Ceiling

The Glass Ceiling

A Poem by Starr

The Glass Ceiling

Around the 11th hour of a starry bright night in November
I heard the most stirring sound that I will forever remember
This sound was profound as I heard it resound from the sky to the ground
An epic sound
A mixture of a NASA shuttle launching and of cracking glass
Startled with intrigue, I gasped
Then arose from my couch and ran to peer outside via my den’s windowpane
And witnessed fragments of the infamous glass ceiling falling to its defeated shame

While breaking news ran across the TV confirming Barack Obama’s historical change

*cheers* YAY!!! hehehe Brilliant! Very clever to document such a wonderful moment in history, in such an artistic way!
Fantastic imagery and I enjoyed your use of the 'Glass Ceiling'- it really added to the message of breaking from constraints and rising =)
