Christmas DayA Poem by 1DisawsumLooks like another day in paradise!Today is Christmas Day! The sun boils behind our backs, A sun hat and bikinis underneath, We're all heading off for a well-earnt break. The drive there is full of "Are we there yet Dad?" And excited children, All waiting to cool themselves down. The carpark is full, Where do we park? We drive around in circles, Until a spot is finally free. The children immediately spot The numerous people In a Santa Claus costume, Sweating from their brows! Bondi Beach is crowded, Full of Christmas spirits, The children are out of the car, And off to play in the water. Presents were long forgotten, The beach is always the best gift, Especially on a hot 40°C day! The water is crystal sea blue, Safety flags are marked out, It is only 10am in the morning, And the day is all stretched out. Finally found a spot, so the Picnic mat is laid down, Food is served on a platter For a great, Christmas lunch! Grandpa sits down, And takes out the bread. He rips it into tiny pieces, And feeds to the seagulls nearby. Soon, seagulls are flocked around him, Waiting for some delicious bread. They have surrounded our mat and food, How are we supposed to eat our hot chips?!
