"I'm Sorry"

This is more of a rant on a blog than a poem. But there was no option, so... here you go!

How many times have you heard of the phrase,

"I'm sorry"? 

How many times have you heard it from someone you KNOW

Are only saying those words to seem kind?

How many times have you heard "I'm sorry"

But with a meaningless definition?

How many times have you heard of "I'm sorry"

But they still continue on with the abuse?

Sorry will just never cut it.

Sorry, sorry, sorry, that's all I ever hear.

Sorry for doing this, that and everything.

Sorry will never cut it, will it?

So why all keep saying empty words?

"I'm sorry" is what everyone detests to hear,

Heard it too often, with no depth involved.

"I'm sorry". It's said too often, that now,

No matter what people do, it has no emotion in it.

Saying words for the sake of somebody else 

Is the true definition of a soulless person,

Like a mosquito, sucking your blood,

Draining the liquid out of the cup.

Saying sorry is its definition of leaving your skin,

And never coming back.

But then another one comes, and leaves behind

His own sorry message.

The scars will never fade, the abuse, clear in mind.

Every word hits you like a punch in the head,

And "I'm sorry"? We all know you wanted to do it,

So don't bother saying "I'm sorry".

Saying "I'm sorry" will never be enough.

It will never permanently remove the scars you have,

It will never permanently remove the damage the abuse.

Saying "I'm sorry" will never fix the damage already done.

Guilt is the price you pay.
