Debris of a Shattered Heart

Debris of a Shattered Heart

A Poem by 1Disawsum
"

The glass never moves, Still lays on the floor, And so does he.

"
Fragile vase falling,
Water spilling,
Roses stained red.
The crash and boom
Glass shattering,
Floorboards turned into a river.
Photo falls, and so did the frame,
Letters spilled out,
Love notes unveiled.
Scrunched up drawings,
Wishes and dreams,
Never fulfilled.
Echoes sustained within time,
In the walls, years later,
Still goes and goes and goes.
Chilled silence, loudly speaking,
Roses picked up,
Once held so lovingly.
Water dried up, and so did the river,
Stains cleaned up,
But shattered glass stayed.
Photo slides out, its paper yellowed,
Crinkled and ripped,
But haunted memories still arise.
The sun hits the glass,
Shards of lost memories,
Slivers of lost love.
Steps on glass,
Made painfully aware
Of the past he never left behind.

The love for haiku poetry was sparked during world literature studies, drawn to its ability to convey profound ideas in just a few syllables. Over the years, hundreds of haikus were written, inspired by moments of awe in everyday life, many of which are featured in the book Blue Harlequin. These haikus aim to inspire an appreciation for the simple beauty in life’s fleeting moments. I'm sitting here behind a screen, Writing about my past like I don't care. Like it's in the past, And I'll never go back there again. But the truth of the matter right now, Is that every secon.. more..
