Looks

Looks

A Poem by 1Disawsum
"

Based on a true event.

"
I admired the family next door,
With the clean-cut grass
And the spotless yard.

I thought to myself,
I'd love to buy my own family
A perfectly manicured house.

One day later,
I came back from school,
And saw a crew of men.

The ambulance came,
And the crew went inside.
They weren't to be seen.

An hour later, they all came back out.
The ambulance crew carried a stretcher.
With sheets draped over a body.

The family were crying,
The TV crew were filming,
And the house was left to stand on its own.

I walked back in to my house,
And turned on the TV.
The news went live, and the stories came on.

The first was them,
The family were crying,
And the body in the back of the vehicle.

Red and blue sirens,
Loudest noise I've ever heard,
The vehicle speeding away.

The crew went back inside,
Saw the bathroom,
Filled with coloured water.

The knife left on the ground,
The gun lay beside it,
Tablets nowhere to be seen.

The note lay sprawled on the bench,
Faint spots left behind,
And the kiss from the man.

He loved his family,
And lovingly tended to his garden,
Just not his life.

I'm sitting here behind a screen, Writing about my past like I don't care. Like it's in the past, And I'll never go back there again. But the truth of the matter right now, Is that every secon.. more..
